Here are they that keep the Commandments of God, and have the Faith and Testimony of Jesus Christ. Revelation 12:17; 14:11   -    Part 01 of 03 parts.

This is a Bible Study. It may be different than what you are used to, because most of what is here are Statements from Scripture; Genesis to Revelation. This short Study does not contain all the Statements in reference to keeping the Commandments of God, but will be enough to bring conviction to your soul that you can see clearly; this is the Way He is calling you to walk with Him. God will guide you into all Truth (John 16:13). He will explain His Word to you if you are absolutely serious about knowing what is Real and what is Truth.

God is calling on His people to live a particular lifestyle: (1 John 2:5-6; But whosoever keeps His Word, in him verily is the Love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in Him. 6 He that says he abides in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked.)

Though we can not accomplish this on our own, it is all right; this is why: As you go through this Study, you will see you are called to be the Temple of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost will do the works of living a pure, holy, righteous and sanctified life in you; if, you are totally serious about walking with Jesus and entering into Eternity. If you are not completely serious about this; you will not want to expect much.

God the Father Himself,  is offering you a chance to be joint heirs with Christ; heirs of His Universe. If you do not want to take that seriously, you might want to earnestly and thoughtfully analyze your current priorities, values and sense of reasoning. What will melt your heart is when you find out how deep and rich and wonderful His Love is for you.

If you think this world of pain, misery, backstabbing, fraud, embezzlement, deceit, lying, cheating and stealing; sickness, disease and death is some great thing; then you do not know what you are being offered at all when it comes to Eternal Life. Sure, there may be some highlights in this temporary world you are now living in; but if you refuse to see what God is offering you; it will just be a matter of time before you will be so sorry you did not take serious time to find out, what the Truth is.

In this Study, you will also find Statements from Scripture that pertain to the Christian; and their personal relationship with God, and also with the rest of humanity. You will find His calling to live a pure life in Him, and He in you. You will find traits and characteristics that will be found in a genuine Christian life. Do not be surprised if you do not find many of these traits in those around you who claim to be Christian; the following is one of the reasons why:

As I have been walking with Jesus through the years, I was getting mixed messages from people who said they were Christian; some of them I feel are, while others have not spent enough time in Scripture, and are following human tradition instead of God's Word. In 1 Timothy we find this:  Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 1 Timothy 4:1.

As I continue to study Scripture, I find many people living according to the teaching of men and of devils, and not of Christ and His Written Word; if you search Scripture diligently, you will find the same realities. But because there were a couple of sins I felt were too important for me to let go of, I chose to go along with the saying I frequently heard which was, "You will not be without sin until Christ comes back to take you Home; when He changes you at His Return; in the twinkling of an eye.

As you will see in the following Statements from Scripture; you will see He is calling you to live pure, holy, righteous and sanctified lives here and now. Through the power of the Holy Ghost working in you, He will fulfill all His Righteousness within you, and credit His Work to your account. Very cool and very generous of Him for sure.

If you think this kind of lifestyle is not for you; you will want to question if you ever gave God a real, fair and honest chance to show Himself to you as He really is. If you let go of preconceived ideas and sour experiences you might have had with those claiming to Christians in the past; you may find yourself coming up with a similar conclusion as me: "Why did I wait so long? This is wonderful! This is what I always wanted my life to be."

You may ask, "But can't I just do it on my own?" You can try if you want to be a glutton for punishment. For me, I have too much sin in my past. The devils use all that to trip me up every chance they can. [Remember, all devils have to work with to unsettle you is your past. If you let them, this will frustrate and discourage you in your present life; it will also give you a distorted and unreal picture of what your future can become. Do not let some devil ruin your future opportunities.]

The devils understand very well how the human mind works, and how they can best manipulate you, and to trip you up in the ways that are not of God. If you do not have a solid grasp on Scripture, you will not know who is telling you the Truth, and who is lying to you. If you are not truly sincere about wanting the absolute Truth in your life, and to personally walk with God; there is no way you will be able to understand Scripture. This is why:

1 Corinthians 2:12-14 -  Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Ghost teaches; comparing Spiritual things with Spiritual. 14 But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness to him: neither can he know them, because they are Spiritually discerned. [Do not expect to understand everything instantly -I do not know of anyone that has -; just keep on studying; the more you do, the more you will understand. This is a wonderful study of a lifetime.]

You can guess all you want; but the Truth is the only Way you will find genuine, Eternal Freedom in your life. Understand that the devils do not want you having what they consciously chose to walk away from. Because of pride, arrogance, regret and bitterness, they are doing everything they can to keep the Truth of all that is going on away from you. If you ever took time to read or study the Bible, did you notice you became tired; or the phone rang; or some other distraction came up? How serious are you?

Do not fall for their deceptions and tricks; do not bite into their lies. God made you for Eternal purposes; reach out to Him so He can fulfill His Beautiful desires in your life. Give your self the opportunity to see how beautiful His desires are for you. [Jeremiah 29:11-13 - For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD; thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. 12 Then will you call upon Me, and you will go and pray to Me, and I will hearken unto you. 13 And you will seek Me, and find Me, when you will search for Me with all your heart.]

Give God a fair and honest chance to make you the person He brought you into this life to become. Don't mess up like the devils who cut their own selves short and forfeited their chance; because once Christ Returns, that is it. Make up your mind today, because you have no guarantee of being around tomorrow. Do you want the Blessed Assurance or not? Why would any one want to live with the disheartening uneasiness of uncertainty and doubt, when you do not have to?

Are you truly interested in God's Lifestyle, and are you desiring to enter into Eternity when He Returns to take His Own Home? If your will is genuine and sincere, you will find that letting the Holy Ghost do the work in you is so much easier. Just let Him finish the work He began in you, so He can finish the work in this world through you, and through His other children.

Also, if you think this is too much reading; this may not be for you. This is only here for those among us who truly want to know exactly what God says about life and lifestyle; particularly the Lifestyle for His children; those who truly want to be with Him in Eternity. Here again, it gets back to priorities.

The Statements that are in blue print are the Statements that refer directly to living a pure, holy, righteous and sanctified life. Read carefully the Statements that are in bold print. And of course, do not read through the Statements from Scripture like some common book; but read through this thoughtfully, because your Eternal Destiny is on the line, and you do not want to find your self off balance. [Daniel 5:27 TEKEL; You are weighed in the balances, and are found wanting.]

Enjoy the Statements contained herein, and let God fulfill His Will in and through you.

Genesis 39:1-23  And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmeelites, which had brought him down thither.  2  And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.  3  And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand.  4  And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.

5  And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field.  6  And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured.

7  And it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me.  8  But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand;  9  There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?

10  And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her.

11  And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his business; and there was none of the men of the house there within.  12  And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out.  13  And it came to pass, when she saw that he had left his garment in her hand, and was fled forth,  14  That she called unto the men of her house, and spake unto them, saying, See, he hath brought in an Hebrew unto us to mock us; he came in unto me to lie with me, and I cried with a loud voice:  15  And it came to pass, when he heard that I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled, and got him out.

16  And she laid up his garment by her, until his lord came home.  17  And she spake unto him according to these words, saying, The Hebrew servant, which thou hast brought unto us, came in unto me to mock me:  18  And it came to pass, as I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled out.  19  And it came to pass, when his master heard the words of his wife, which she spake unto him, saying, After this manner did thy servant to me; that his wrath was kindled.

20  And Joseph's master took him, and put him into the prison, a place where the king's prisoners were bound: and he was there in the prison.  21  But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison.  22  And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph's hand all the prisoners that were in the prison; and whatsoever they did there, he was the doer of it.  23  The keeper of the prison looked not to any thing that was under his hand; because the LORD was with him, and that which he did, the LORD made it to prosper.

Exodus 19:3-8  And Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel;  4  Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself.  5  Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:  6  And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.  7  And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before their faces all these words which the LORD commanded him.  8  And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD.

Exodus 20:1-20  And God spake all these words, saying,  2  I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.  3  Thou shalt have no other gods before me.  4  Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:  5  Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;  6  And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.  7  Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.  8  Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.  9  Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:  10  But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:  11  For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

12  Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.  13  Thou shalt not kill.  14  Thou shalt not commit adultery.  15  Thou shalt not steal.  16  Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.  17  Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.  18  And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.  19  And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.  20  And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.

Deuteronomy 4:1-31  Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.  2  Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

3  Your eyes have seen what the LORD did because of Baalpeor: for all the men that followed Baalpeor, the LORD thy God hath destroyed them from among you.  4  But ye that did cleave unto the LORD your God are alive every one of you this day.  5  Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it.

6  Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.  7  For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for?  8  And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?

9  Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons;  10  Specially the day that thou stoodest before the LORD thy God in Horeb, when the LORD said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children.

11  And ye came near and stood under the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire unto the midst of heaven, with darkness, clouds, and thick darkness.  12  And the LORD spake unto you out of the midst of the fire: ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only ye heard a voice.  13  And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.  14  And the LORD commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go over to possess it.

15  Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire:  16  Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,  17  The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air,  18  The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth:  19  And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.

20  But the LORD hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, even out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day.

21  Furthermore the LORD was angry with me for your sakes, and sware that I should not go over Jordan, and that I should not go in unto that good land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance:  22  But I must die in this land, I must not go over Jordan: but ye shall go over, and possess that good land.  23  Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the LORD thy God hath forbidden thee.  24  For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.  25  When thou shalt beget children, and children's children, and ye shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, and shall do evil in the sight of the LORD thy God, to provoke him to anger:

26  I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.  27  And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you.  28  And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.

29  But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.  30  When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;  31  (For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

Deuteronomy 6:1-25  Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:  2  That thou mightest fear [revere] the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.

3  Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.

4  Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:  5  And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.  6  And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:  7  And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

8  And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.  9  And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

10  And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not,  11  And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;  12  Then beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

13  Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.  14  Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;  15  (For the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.  16  Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.

17  Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.  18  And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the LORD: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers,  19  To cast out all thine enemies from before thee, as the LORD hath spoken.

20  And when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD our God hath commanded you?  21  Then thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh's bondmen in Egypt; and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand:  22  And the LORD shewed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes:  23  And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers.

24  And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear [revere] the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.  25  And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he hath commanded us.

Deuteronomy 7:1-26  When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;  2  And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them:  3  Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.  4  For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.

5  But thus shall ye deal with them; ye shall destroy their altars, and break down their images, and cut down their groves, and burn their graven images with fire.  6  For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.  7  The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:  8  But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.  9  Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;  10  And repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face.  11 Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command thee this day, to do them.  12 Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers:  13  And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee.  14  Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.  15  And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee.

16  And thou shalt consume all the people which the LORD thy God shall deliver thee; thine eye shall have no pity upon them: neither shalt thou serve their gods; for that will be a snare unto thee.  17  If thou shalt say in thine heart, These nations are more than I; how can I dispossess them?  18  Thou shalt not be afraid of them: but shalt well remember what the LORD thy God did unto Pharaoh, and unto all Egypt;  19  The great temptations which thine eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the stretched out arm, whereby the LORD thy God brought thee out: so shall the LORD thy God do unto all the people of whom thou art afraid.

20  Moreover the LORD thy God will send the hornet among them, until they that are left, and hide themselves from thee, be destroyed.  21  Thou shalt not be affrighted at them: for the LORD thy God is among you, a mighty God and terrible.  22  And the LORD thy God will put out those nations before thee by little and little: thou mayest not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee.  23  But the LORD thy God shall deliver them unto thee, and shall destroy them with a mighty destruction, until they be destroyed.  24  And he shall deliver their kings into thine hand, and thou shalt destroy their name from under heaven: there shall no man be able to stand before thee, until thou have destroyed them.  25  The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it is an abomination to the LORD thy God.  26  Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.

Deuteronomy 10:11-22  And the LORD said unto me, Arise, take thy journey before the people, that they may go in and possess the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give unto them.  12  And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,  13  To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?  14  Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the LORD'S thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is.  15  Only the LORD had a delight in thy fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all people, as it is this day.  16  Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.  17  For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:  18  He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.  19  Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.  20  Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name.  21  He is thy praise, and he is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen.  22  Thy fathers went down into Egypt with threescore and ten persons; and now the LORD thy God hath made thee as the stars of heaven for multitude.

Deuteronomy 14:1-23  Ye are the children of the LORD your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.  2  For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.  3  Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing.  4  These are the beasts which ye shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat,  5  The hart, and the roebuck, and the fallow deer, and the wild goat, and the pygarg, and the wild ox, and the chamois.  6  And every beast that parteth the hoof, and cleaveth the cleft into two claws, and cheweth the cud among the beasts, that ye shall eat.  7  Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the cloven hoof; as the camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore they are unclean unto you.  8  And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase.

9  These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall ye eat:  10  And whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye may not eat; it is unclean unto you.  11  Of all clean birds ye shall eat.  12  But these are they of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,  13  And the glede, and the kite, and the vulture after his kind,  14  And every raven after his kind,  15  And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,  16  The little owl, and the great owl, and the swan,  17  And the pelican, and the gier eagle, and the cormorant,  18  And the stork, and the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.  19  And every creeping thing that flieth is unclean unto you: they shall not be eaten.  20  But of all clean fowls ye may eat.

21  Ye shall not eat of any thing that dieth of itself: thou shalt give it unto the stranger that is in thy gates, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto an alien: for thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.  22  Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.  23  And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always.

Deuteronomy 26:16-19  This day the LORD thy God hath commanded thee to do these statutes and judgments: thou shalt therefore keep and do them with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.  17  Thou hast avouched the LORD this day to be thy God, and to walk in his ways, and to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and to hearken unto his voice:  18  And the LORD hath avouched thee this day to be his peculiar people, as he hath promised thee, and that thou shouldest keep all his commandments;  19  And to make thee high above all nations which he hath made, in praise, and in name, and in honour; and that thou mayest be an holy people unto the LORD thy God, as he hath spoken.

Deuteronomy 28:1-15  And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:  2  And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.  3  Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.  4  Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.  5  Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.  6  Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.  7  The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.  8  The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.  9  The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.  10  And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee.  11  And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee.  12  The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.  13  And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:  14  And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.  15  But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee: …

1 Chronicles 16:8-36  Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.  9  Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him, talk ye of all his wondrous works.  10  Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.  11  Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.  12  Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;  13  O ye seed of Israel his servant, ye children of Jacob, his chosen ones.  14  He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth.  15  Be ye mindful always of his covenant; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations;  16  Even of the covenant which he made with Abraham, and of his oath unto Isaac;  17  And hath confirmed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant,  18  Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance;  19  When ye were but few, even a few, and strangers in it.  20  And when they went from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people;  21  He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes,  22  Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

23  Sing unto the LORD, all the earth; shew forth from day to day his salvation.  24  Declare his glory among the heathen; his marvellous works among all nations.  25  For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods.  26  For all the gods of the people are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.  27  Glory and honour are in his presence; strength and gladness are in his place.  28  Give unto the LORD, ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength.  29  Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

30  Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved.  31  Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The LORD reigneth.  32  Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof: let the fields rejoice, and all that is therein.  33  Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the LORD, because he cometh to judge the earth.  34  O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.  35  And say ye, Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather us together, and deliver us from the heathen, that we may give thanks to thy holy name, and glory in thy praise.  36  Blessed be the LORD God of Israel for ever and ever. And all the people said, Amen, and praised the LORD.

2 Chronicles 16:8-9  Were not the Ethiopians and the Lubims a huge host, with very many chariots and horsemen? yet, because thou didst rely on the LORD, he delivered them into thine hand.

9  For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

Psalms 19:7-14  The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.  8  The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.  9  The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.  10  More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.  11  Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

12  Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.  13  Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.  14  Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

Psalms 34:1-22  A Psalm of David, when he changed his behaviour before Abimelech; who drove him away, and he departed. I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.  2  My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.  3  O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.  4  I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.  5  They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.  6  This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.  7  The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.  8  O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.  9  O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.

10  The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.  11  Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.  12  What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?  13  Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.  14  Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.  15  The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.  16  The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.  17  The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.  18  The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.  19  Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.  20  He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.  21  Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.  22  The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.

Psalms 77:11-13  I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.  12  I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.  13  Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?

Psalms 84:2-12  My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.  3  Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God.  4  Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.  5  Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.  6  Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.  7  They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.  8  O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.  9  Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.  10  For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.  11  For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.  12  O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

Psalms 96:7-13  Give unto the LORD, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength.  8  Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come into his courts.  9  O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.  10  Say among the heathen that the LORD reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously.  11  Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof.  12  Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice  13  Before the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.

Psalms 97:9-12  For thou, LORD, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods.  10  Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.  11  Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.  12  Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.

Psalms 135:3-6  Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant.  4  For the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure.  5  For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.  6  Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.

Psalms 138:1-8  A Psalm of David. I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee.  2  I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.  3  In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.  4  All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O LORD, when they hear the words of thy mouth.  5  Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the LORD: for great is the glory of the LORD.  6  Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.  7  Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.  8  The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.

Proverbs 3:1-35  My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:  2  For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.  3  Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:  4  So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

5  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  6  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  7  Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.  8  It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

9  Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:  10  So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.  11  My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:  12  For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

13  Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.  14  For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.  15  She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.  16  Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.  17  Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.  18  She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.

19  The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.  20  By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.  21  My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:  22  So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.  23  Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.

24  When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.  25  Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.  26  For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.

27  Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.

28  Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.  29  Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.

30  Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.

31  Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.  32  For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous.

33  The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.  34  Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.  35  The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.

Proverbs 4:1-27  Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.  2  For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.  3  For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.  4  He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.  5  Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.  6  Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.

7  Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.  8  Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.  9  She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.  10  Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.

11  I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.  12  When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.  13  Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.

14  Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.  15  Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.  16  For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.  17  For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.

18  But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

19  The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.  20  My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.  21  Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.  22  For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

23  Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

24  Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.  25  Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.  26  Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.  27  Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

Isaiah 6:5-13  Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.  6  Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:  7  And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.  8  Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.  9  And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.  10  Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.  11  Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,  12  And the LORD have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land.  13  But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof.

Isaiah 26:1-13  In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will  God appoint for walls and bulwarks.  2  Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.  3  Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.  4  Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:  5  For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust.  6  The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor, and the steps of the needy.  7  The way of the just is uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh the path of the just.  8  Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee.  9  With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.  10  Let favour be shewed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the LORD.  11  LORD, when thy hand is lifted up, they will not see: but they shall see, and be ashamed for their envy at the people; yea, the fire of thine enemies shall devour them.  12  LORD, thou wilt ordain peace for us: for thou also hast wrought all our works in us.  13  O LORD our God, other lords beside thee have had dominion over us: but by thee only will we make mention of thy name.

Isaiah 29:7-24  And the multitude of all the nations that fight against Ariel, even all that fight against her and her munition, and that distress her, shall be as a dream of a night vision.  8  It shall even be as when an hungry man dreameth, and, behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh, and, behold, he is faint, and his soul hath appetite: so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that fight against mount Zion.

9  Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink.  10  For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.  11  And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:  12  And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.

13  Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:  14  Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.  15  Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?  16  Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?  17  Is it not yet a very little while, and Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest?

18  And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.  19  The meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.  20  For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off:  21  That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of nought.  22  Therefore thus saith the LORD, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob, Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale.  23  But when he seeth his children, the work of mine hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify my name, and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear the God of Israel.  24  They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine.

Isaiah 62:1-12  For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.  2  And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name.  3  Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God.  4  Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the LORD delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married.  5  For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.

6  I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence,  7  And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.  8  The LORD hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou hast laboured:  9  But they that have gathered it shall eat it, and praise the LORD; and they that have brought it together shall drink it in the courts of my holiness.  10  Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people.  11  Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.  12  And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.

Isaiah 63:7-19  I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.  8  For he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie: so he was their Saviour.  9  In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.  10  But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.

Jeremiah 17:7-14  Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.  8  For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.  9  The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?  10  I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.  11  As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.  12  A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary.  13  O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters.  14  Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.

Jeremiah 32:38-41  And they shall be my people, and I will be their God:  39  And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:  40  And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.  41  Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.

Ezekiel 36:25-35  Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.  26  A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.  27  And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.  28  And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.  29  I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.

Joel 2:1-32  Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;  2  A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.  3  A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.

4  The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run.  5  Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.  6  Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness.  7  They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks:  8  Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded.  9  They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief.  10  The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:  11  And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?

12  Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:  13  And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.  14  Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God?  15  Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:  16  Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.  17  Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?  18  Then will the LORD be jealous for his land, and pity his people.  19  Yea, the LORD will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen:  20  But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things.

21  Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great things.  22  Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength.  23  Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.  24  And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats shall overflow with wine and oil.  25  And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.  26  And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.

27  And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.  28  And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:  29  And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.  30  And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.  31  The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.  32  And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.

Micah 7:15-20  According to the days of thy coming out of the land of Egypt will I shew unto him marvellous things.  16  The nations shall see and be confounded at all their might: they shall lay their hand upon their mouth, their ears shall be deaf.  17  They shall lick the dust like a serpent, they shall move out of their holes like worms of the earth: they shall be afraid of the LORD our God, and shall fear because of thee.  18  Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.  19  He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.  20  Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.

Zephaniah 3:11-13  In that day shalt thou not be ashamed for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed against me: for then I will take away out of the midst of thee them that rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt no more be haughty because of my holy mountain.  12  I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the LORD.  13  The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.

Zechariah 8:6-8  Thus saith the LORD of hosts; If it be marvellous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in these days, should it also be marvellous in mine eyes? saith the LORD of hosts.  7  Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country;  8  And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.

Zechariah 8:16-19  These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates:  17  And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the LORD.  18  And the word of the LORD of hosts came unto me, saying,  19  Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth and peace.
